Definition of Elastic and Plastic deformation
Elastic deformation:
When a load is applied on a material then it is deformed. If the material returns to its original size and shape when the load is releases, it is said to have experienced elastic deformation.
For example bending a rubber hose is the example of elastic deformation.
Plastic deformation:
When a load is applied on a material then it is deformed. On releasing load, if the deformation retains then the material is said to have faced plastic deformation.
For example when we bend copper wire,it will retain nearly all of its deformation.
